Some former employees of the Bake-Line Group in South Beloit could soon split a 600-thousand-dollar settlement.

The company was accused of violating the WARN Act, which requires companies to give employees 60 days' notice when they will be laid off or lose their jobs.

A group of former employees filed a civil suit, after the snack-maker closed its doors in January 2004 without giving any notice to about 300 employees.

The New York attorneys representing 176 former employees who filed the complaint say a Delaware bankruptcy court, a company trustee and the plaintiffs must still approve the proposed settlement.
