Fitchburg Company Wins Business Competition

A Fitchburg company started just last year is the winner of the governor's business plan contest.

Mithridion Incorporated develops drugs that treat Alzheimer's disease based on research at UW Madison.

The company wins a year of free office space at University Research Park valued at $80,000 and $20,000 in cash.

Mithridion CEO Jeff Johnson says the office space gives the new company a tremendous start. It's trying to develop drugs for treating Alzheimer's, then partner with a pharmaceutical company to take the drugs to market.
