Some residents of a Madison apartment building are out in the heat after a fire forces them out of their home.
A call to the 2400 block of Fish Hatchery Road came in just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
When they arrived, firefighters say they found heavy smoke coming from the second floor.
Crews were able to knock the fire out in about five minutes. Fire officials say the hot temps help them move fast.
Damage is estimated at $15,000, and was contained to a bedroom, bathroom, and closet in one apartment of the eight unit building.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
