A young woman died in a rush hour crash that left Interstate traffic backed up. The accident near DeForest on I-39 blocked the westbound lanes for more than five hours.
It happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reports that 29-year-old Amanda Reigel from Poynette was heading east in her SUV when she crossed the median into oncoming traffic. She then collided with a semi truck.
The truck driver was taken to UW hospital with minor injuries. State patrol says Reigel was on her way to work. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
