A New York man is dead and a 17-year-old girl is in custody after a hit–and–run crash in Sauk County.

It happened around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 12 and Fern Dell Road in the Township of Delton.

Authorities say 66-year-old Ronald Tallon was ejected from his car after being hit broadside by another vehicle turning west. Tallon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle fled. Authorities located its 17-year-old female driver – Ompa Wi — less than an hour and a half later at an apartment complex in Lake Delton.

She's being held on felony fatal hit–and–run charges, and is expected to be in court either Thursday or Friday.
