Election Reform

Republicans in the Senate passed the Photo ID bill for the third time.

So that means Democrats will have to introduce their own set of election reforms as a separate bill.

Democrats held a press conference earlier today to unveil how they would change the election system to prevent voter fraud.

The Republican bill would require you to show a state issued photo ID before you are allowed to vote.

Senate Democrats say the bill targets traditional democratic voters like the elderly, African Americans, and Latinos.

"I think one cam draw a conclusion that they're not trying to encourage people to vote, they're trying to suppress the vote," says senate minority leader Judy Robson.

Governor Doyle has vetoed similar bills twice in the past two years, saying they would disenfranchise many elderly and poor voters.
