Jeanne Larsen says most people would think she's nuts.
Larsen works at the Rock County Job Center helping the poor and
unemployed with food stamps and medical assistance programs.
She recently received a thank you letter from a former client
whose circumstances had apparently changed. Tucked inside the note
was one-thousand dollars in cash with instructions to spend the
money extravagantly on herself.
Larsen instead turned the money over to her supervisor who sent
it to the human services accounting department.
Human service director Charmian Klyve says she's never run into
a situation like this before and will consult the county's legal
counsel on what to do with the cash.
