The state confirmed three cases of West Nile virus in dead birds collected from Kenosha, Pierce and Rock counties.
Wisconsin has been testing crows, blue jays and ravens since
early last month as part of the Department of Health and Family
Services plan to monitor the spread of the virus.
Communicable disease epidemiologist Patricia Fox says no human
cases of West Nile virus have been reported this year.
The state says less than one percent of people bitten by a
mosquito infected with West Nile virus will become seriously ill.
