Residents in the Village of Arena are being asked to take extra precautions after bacteria is found in the water system.
Recent water samples reveal traces of coliform bacteria, and in at least one sample fecal coliform bacteria were found.
Those who use Arena water are asked to boil water used for drinking and cooking for at least five minutes, throw out ice cubes in your freezer, and do not brush your teeth or wash open wounds with tap water.
Village water utility employees are taking steps to eliminate the bacteria from the water but you should continue taking precautions until you are told otherwise.
