High Speed Chase Ends in Oregon

There were some tense moments in Oregon as a high-speed chase ends with a suspect and state trooper injured.

The incident started with a complaint just before 5 p.m. about a possible stolen vehicle. According to the Dane County Sheriff's Department, the Jeep Cherokee was located on Hwy. 51 in the Town of Dunn.

Authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, but then the jeep fled and a pursuit ensued. State Patrol, Oregon Police Department, and McFarland Police became involved as the chase progressed.

The sheriff's office reports that the chase ended at County Hwy. CC in the village of Oregon. Shots were fired as the suspect attempted to run over a Wisconsin State Trooper.

The suspect was hit and taken to UW Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The state trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries.
