It is now easier for authorities to send sex offenders to mental institutions.
The state Supreme Court ruled that sex offenders who return to prison can be committed as sex predators even if their new crimes are not of a sexual nature.
This means that sex offenders can be confined each time they go back to prison, even for minor crimes.
