It wasn't long after the series of attacks in London that the Department of Homeland Security raised the terrorist threat level in this country. The threat level was raised to orange, or high, for all mass transit systems across the United States. That includes city bus systems like Madison's.
We got to the main terminal just a short time after that announcement and already, Metro was taking action. Julie Maryott-Walsh from Metro Transit says, "There will be come limited access to our facility as a result of the code orange, another thing, our vehicles, vehicles that are parked in this lot as we speak are being moved inside the facility, we don't want any unattended vehicles sitting out on the streets."
Metro says customers riding the bus can help if they see any unattended bags or packages; they should let the driver of the bus know.
