One person is dead after a house fire in Monroe County.

The county sheriff's department put out a news release Saturday that says the fire happened in the town of La Grange. But it does not say when it happened.

The department didn't immediately release any information about the victim so they could contact his or her family.

The Wisconsin State Fire Marshal and the sheriff's department are investigating.
