A second fire in two weeks leaves a Columbia County business a total loss Friday.
The Poynette Fire Department was called to the Diamond Star Wood Shaving plant about 10:30 Friday morning. Soon, fire departments from Portage, Wyocena, Lodi, Pardeeville and Arlington joined them.
But it wasn't enough, as the first spread, causing the roof of the plant to fall in.
Fire crews were at the scene all day, knocking down what walls remain as they fight to put out hot spots.
On June 22nd, firefighters were at the same plant, putting out another fire. The investigation into Friday's fire continues.
