Middleton Airport Flying High

The Middleton Municipal Airport kicks off its Grand Opening weekend with a ribbon–cutting ceremony.

The revamped airport, formerly known as Morey Field, reopened Friday after changing ownership to the city of Middleton.

A new runway was finished in October, but now the airport also has new hangars and a new terminal as well.

"There's a huge super–highway up there and Middleton has it's own on–ramp, which is so important," says airport manager Rich Morey.

There are other festivities for the Grand Opening of the Middleton Airport. Saturday, there are free plane rides for children from 9:00 to noon, as well as dinner and dancing.

Sunday is the "fly in, drive in breakfast" from 7:30 to noon. All festivities will be held at the new airport on Airport Road in Middleton.
