A computer virus that's infecting computers across the country is hitting close to home. The digital worms are slowing down P–Cs in Dane County's government buildings.
There are about 1500 computers in the county's system. And when employees got to work Wednesday, they found more than half of them had been infected. The virus affected a lot of e–mail accounts, calendars, and some other special applications.
Getting a computer virus is rare in Dane County, we're told it hasn't happen since 2000.
"We're in pretty good shape right now, we're moving toward getting everybody back on," says Dane County's director of administration.
Dane County hopes to have the problem fixed by Thursday morning.
The Madison Police Department was not among those that got the virus.
