Crews work to remove trees along Monona Drive after weak roots are linked to a fallen tree that killed a man in May.
The Kosovo man died after being crushed by a tree while driving in Monona and that prompted the city to investigate and they found other trees in the area are infected with the same disease.
Gary Weinert, Public Works Director for Monona says, " We felt the prudent thing to do was get them out of here as expediently as possible so we wouldn't have another tragedy like we had in May."
Inspectors are still looking at other trees that could be diseased in the area.
