The search is on for two men who police say tried to murder someone this morning in Madison. Police are calling it an attempted homicide.
They're looking for two suspects in a shooting in the 2400 block of Cypress Way on the city's south side.
Just after 8:00 Monday morning police responded to a call of shots fired at 2413 Cypress Way ar the intersection with Magnolia Lane.
When they arrived at the scene, a police spokesperson says they found a man in his twenties suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police also suggest the suspects may not have traveled that far.
"Not necessarily right in the area, because we have a good presence here," says Public Information Officer Mike Hanson of the Madison Police Deparrtment. "But we do have an idea of the vehicle and we're running all our information and intelligence that we have to try and find them."
Police say they are looking for two black males, driving a faded, black Ford Crown Victoria with Illinois license plates, and a white baseball hat in the rear seating area.
More than a half–dozen Madison detectives have been assigned to this case. According to Officer Hanson.this shooting does not appear to represent a random incident—meaning the victim may have known his attackers.
