Sean Youngs of Sauk County stood before a judge today on charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl.
With shackled hands and feet, the 34–year old father of two entered the court room. A judge set bail for Youngs at $250,000.
He also ordered that Youngs not have contact with any minors except his own children. His wife, Kelly Youngs, offered condolences to the victim's family.
"I feel really sorry for her and what happened," says Kelly Youngs. "If she could please find it in her heart to understand that he has a mental illness, that we want to just help him. Please don't send him to prison, he is not a criminal."
Kelly Youngs says her husband suffers from bipolar disorder, and has not been taking his medicine.
It was just last week that Sean Youngs reportedly kidnapped the 12–year old girl. Police say he held her captive for 18 hours, sexually assaulting her repeatedly before leaving her in rural Sauk County.
She received medical treatment for her injuries.
Youngs will be back in court on August 19th.
