"This is where I dug myself out, this area right here," says Wayne Weis as he points to a basement now covered by wood and pieces of the roof.
His wife, Connie, says, "we are so blessed, we really are to be alive."
For the couple, their once Ranch style home is reduced to a pile of rubble, and as you look down their street the damage is devastating.
"All their houses, it is hard to talk about, all their houses are just gone," says Wayne Weis looking at his neighborhood in amazement.
For the owners of the property across the street it is especially difficult because they only moved in three days ago.
"These people just built their dream homes," says Oscar Linnerud referring to the neighborhood which is only five years old.
He and his wife Shirley own the subdivision, and have checked up on many of the homes.
As the Weis family cleans up they are trying to remain positive.
Connie Weis says, "it take a lot out of you, but the human spirit, that's been a big focus because we're resilient and we will bounce back."
