The city of Stoughton is requesting additional volunteers saying even after more than 600 offered their assistance today more will be needed on Sunday.
We caught up with a couple of volunteers to hear what compelled them to contribute. Alan Vick says, "We have a couple of families that we know were effected, part of their house was destroyed, so we're trying to get in the area just to help out." And another volunteer, Lisa Krause says, "These people you know I have conversations with them, they are dear to me, I don't know them by name, but I know their faces. They need a helping hand and today I don't work so I am here."
If you are interested in volunteering on Sunday, check in will take place at Stoughton Area High School. Make sure to wear work clothes, but do not bring power tools, as the Department of Natural Resources will take care of providing the power. Volunteer crews will start heading out into the areas of most damage at seven a.m.
