Nearly 2,000 people lent a hand during this weekend's cleanup efforts.

The DNR says more than 1,700 volunteers from throughout Wisconsin helped Stoughton–area residents pile debris from fields and lawns along roads for removal. 180 teachers, parents, and students from McFarland also pitched in Sunday.

The large scale volunteer effort ended Sunday night, but officials in the Town of Dunn say they'll continue accepting volunteers on a limited basis. They also need people to donate heavy equipment. Call (608) 255–4219 for more information.

Town of Pleasant Springs officials say they won't need volunteers until Thursday. If you're interested in helping out there, call the town hall after Wednesday at (608) 873-3063.
