A construction worker, who was seriously hurt in a building collapse on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, will get $24 million dollars for his loss.
Terry Staskal suffered severe injuries when the Pharmacy building went down in 1999. He was pinned for more than three hours under debris.
In 2003, a Dane County jury ordered Symons Corporation of Des Plaines, Illinois to pay Staskal for damages. The company argued the award was excessive. However, the appeals court decided today the jury's award was reasonable.
