Senator Russ Feingold wants to make the new bankruptcy law easier on those devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
The Wisconsin Democrat says a new law, which would make it more difficult for people to declare bankruptcy, could make it difficult for victims of hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters to recover.
The new bankruptcy law goes into effect October 17th. Feingold hopes to introduce his softer legislation and have it included in disaster relief legislation Congress is expected to pass.
