Beading for Very Special Arts

Video will be available shortly.

It's once again time to gear up for an exciting day of Badger football.
Kick-off is at 11 a.m. Saturday and while you're enjoying the game the Very Special Arts Center wants you to also enjoy some of their handy work.

"Hey Bead Man" will sell red and white bead necklaces during the game Saturday.

The necklaces are made by special needs students at the Very Special Arts Center. At the center, classes in visual arts and music are offered year–round to children and adults with disabilities.

Program director Jackie Hefty says, "The fact that the are able to share their abilities in this way and then take it out and see sombody else in the community wearing it and putting a value to it, it helps their own individual self esteem."

The necklaces cost $5 and they will be sold at games leading up to October 1st, which is Very Special Arts Day.

And if you are going to the Badger/Temple game Saturday, officials are letting fans bring water bottles into the stadium because of the extreme heat they are expecting.
