Wednesday afternoon, President Bush declared a state of emergency in Wisconsin in order to get federal aid into the state to help hurricane evacuees who have settled here.

This means aid will come in to supplement state and local response efforts for hurricane victims.

Milwaukee is currently housing 90 displaced gulf coast residents at State Fair Park near the city. That's in addition to 13 families arrived in Madison on Friday. They are being housed in apartments in the Allied Drive Community.
