Press Release from Middleton Police:

Middleton Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the State Bank of Cross Plains, 6300 University Ave. at 2:36 PM, Wednesday May 7th. Middleton police dispatch received a 911 call from a bank employee reporting the robbery, followed quickly thereafter by an alarm coming from the bank.

Initial investigation indicates the suspect entered the bank, presented a note to the teller which indicated he was robbing the bank and that he had a gun. No weapon was displayed. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot, running in a westerly direction. No one was injured.

The suspect was described as a male, white, early 20’s medium height, slim, wearing a dark knit hat with a brim, sun glasses, long sleeve shirt, jeans and brown shoes.

Responding Middleton police units set up a perimeter and requested the assistance of the Dane County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit. The suspect was tracked west along University Ave., north on Lakeview and west on Oakwood Place. At least two witnesses saw the suspect running on Lakeview and Oakwood Place.

Detectives investigating the latest robbery believe that the suspect may also be responsible for the robbery of the State Bank of Cross Plains located at 8301 University Ave. Middleton, WI on April 11, 2008 and the Amcore Bank on Odana Road in Madison, WI on March 19, 2008.

Too bad this idiot didn't trip and smack his head on the sidewalk. I do think its funny how he fled on foot. Maybe he was getting gas money!
