UPDATE: Tuesday, May 20, 2008 --- 12:15 p.m.
Classes are cancelled Tuesday in Johnson Creek after a threat was written on a bathroom stall.
Exact details have not been released, but police say the threat insinuated that someone would be hurt Tuesday morning.
According to superintendent Michael Garvey, the police and fire departments, along with school administrators, spent four hours searching the building to no avail. Police are now reviewing security footage in the hallway near the bathroom as part of the investigation.
This is the third such threat that has been written on the restroom walls within the last four weeks. There were two threats made in April, but due to the nature of the threats, classes were not cancelled.
Athletic events will be held tonight, and classes will resume districtwide tomorrow. In addition, the spring concert will hopefully be rescheduled.
Garvey says the district must add another day before summer vacation will begin - June 13 will now be the last day of classes.
Security will be heightened for the rest of the school year.
The incident remains under investigation.
