UPDATE: Woman shot on Theresa Terrace remains in critical condition

UPDATED Monday, September 9, 2013 --- 3:07 p.m.

Madison Police say the 15-year-old boy in custody in this shooting investigation fired a gun, and the woman hit by the bullet was likely an unintended target.

At the time of the shooting the woman had a baby in her arms and two children, ages 5 and 9, were standing next to her.

When officers arrived, the woman did not have a pulse. They immediately began CCR.

The 29-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and remains in critical condition.

None of the children were injured.

The 15-year old male was arrested Saturday on a tentative charge of 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety. He was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center.

The three officers who were first on the scene and administered life saving measures will be nominated for MPD life saving awards.

Madison Police say a 15-year-old boy is in custody in connection to the shooting of a woman.

The shooting happened Friday night on Theresa Terrace. The woman, who was shot in the abdomen, remains hospitalized.

Police are working with the District Attorney's office to decide on charges.

Madison police say they have identified two juveniles who may be connected to a shooting Friday night that injured a woman.

Police say the juveniles are people of interest in the case. This shooting does not appear to be random, according to a police report.

Police say a 911 call came in around 9:45 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived they found that a woman had been shot in the 1400 block of Theresa Terrace.

Authorities say the woman was taken to the hospital. Officers say she was shot once and her injury could be life-threatening.

Witnesses tell NBC15 that the female victim was holding a baby when she was getting into her vehicle and was shot.

Madison Police are investigating a shooting on the city's West side.

Police say a 911 call came in around 9:45 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived they found that a woman had been shot in the 1400 block of Theresa Terrace.

Authorities say the woman was taken to the hospital. Officers say she was shot once and her injury could be life-threatening.

Witnesses tell NBC15 that the female victim was holding a baby when she was getting into her vehicle and was shot.

Madison Police brought in K9 units to search the area. Officers say they haven't narrowed down a suspect yet, but are working with several leads at this time. The investigation is on-going.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
