Antibiotics Warning: FDA Calls for Urgent Warning on Tendon Risks Save Email Print

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 --- 10:50 a.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal drug safety officials have imposed the government's most urgent warning on Cipro and similar antibiotics, citing risks that they can cause tendon ruptures, a serious injury that leaves some patients incapacitated.

The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday ordered makers of flouroquinolone drugs -- a potent class of antibiotics -- to add a 'black box' warning to their products, which include Cipro, Levaquin, Floxin and other medications.

Patients should immediately stop taking the medications if they develop any tendon pain, swelling or inflammation.

I think Lori harbors criminals.

Hey Lori, I know this may sound strange, but rather than posting your comment, if you had a brain, did it occur to you maybe you should contact the cops? Or did you go up to the guy and ask if he needed any free passes?

Why didn't you ask him Lori? What ever happened to a nosey neighbor is a good neighbor? All you would have to have done Lori is say are you the crook everyone is looking for?

we were at Mt Olympus yesterday Monday 7/7 and saw a man similarly described as the escapee from your broadcast this evening and he was wearing one of the electronic bracelets at that time-maybe he is still in the Dells.

Maybe Jack Kevorkian should be on the board in view of the fact he will be on the ballot in Mich. this November.

Hmmm, Bon Jovi and antibiotics? Any similarities?

Has anyone heard people are charging $175.00 and up per ticket to get into the free Bon Jovi concert in Central Park? They gave out 2 tickets each. And people are scalping. Crooks!
