Governor Jim Doyle has signed a $3.63 million contract for reconstruction of County A in Lake Delton, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

Work on the roadway, which also serves as an embankment for Lake Delton, is scheduled to begin Sept. 8.

Hoffman Construction Company of Black River Falls will be the prime
contractor for the project, which includes filling the breach caused by the June flooding and reconstructing the roadway to prevent future impoundment failures.

Eighty-percent of the project costs are expected to come from federal
emergency relief funds, with twenty percent from the state.

The reconstruction of County A and restoration of Lake Delton is a
collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Department of Natural Resources, Federal Highway Administration, Sauk County and the Village of Lake Delton.
