Frustrated with studying for class, two UW-Madison graduates are setting out to make life easier for students across the country.
They're gaining worldwide attention by the day, finding out a life changing business was just a click away.
It is a world these budding entrepreneurs can't escape. The college friends spend more time looking over course materials now than they did before graduation.
Dave Sargent says, "Every day we pause for about half and hour and just talk about how exciting it is because you just have to do it you just have to get it out."
The two are co-founders of the academic networking site the ClassConnection.
It's a web site that allows students at hundreds of universities across the country to share course information.
Co-founder Christopher Klundt says, "We built this from the bottom up and we're focusing on the students and it's going to work because they're going to want to contribute and they're going to want to help each other out."
The whole plan started right here at the UW-Madison school of business inside a very small study room. From just that very early idea to the tens of thousands of customers they serve now, it's been quite a ride.
Klundt says, "Some days it's just mind numbing to see people signing up and you look at our analytics to show what countries people are visiting from and you wonder how did someone in Korea find out about us."
Even some university staff members are jumping on board, even though the site does provide shortcuts.
It allows students to share notes or read just outlines of textbook chapters.
UW-Madison French Lecturer Andrew Irving says, "I guess the compensation is that they may not be learning so much about the process of learning in that little aspect but they are learning a lot in the classroom."
Barely out of the classroom themselves, these two kids are using their frustrations with studying to help students around the world.
In just a year of operation the site has grown to include students and teachers from 700 different universities and 300 high schools across the world.
The founders say that makes it hard not to daydream about a day when the site could make them some serious cash.
