The Director of the Jefferson Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services was killed in an explosion in his home Friday morning.
That's to according to Don Hunjadi of the Wisconsin EMS Association.
Mark Fisher lived in the home on Ruth Dr. with his wife and their two dogs for 11 years, said neighbor Ingrid Adams.
Neighbors say they are shocked at how the accident could have happened to someone so dedicated to the safety of so many.
"It just seems ironic that somebody who has dedicated his life to the EMS and all that that this would happen to him," said Ingrid Evans, who had called 911 about the explosion.
Neighbor Pati Fitzgerald said: "It's amazing because he was the best guy in the whole world. That ambulance was his life and it's just really sad."
Jefferson police are still investigating the cause of that explosion.
