Woman Delivers Baby During Morning Commute

Release from Dane County Sheriff's Office:
Madison, WI. January 12, 2009 – At approximately 7:00 am this morning, a Dane County Sheriff’s Deputy, along with McFarland EMS and McFarland Police, were dispatched to Highway 51 near Siggelkow Road in McFarland.
The call was in response to a 33-year-old woman in labor in a vehicle on the side of the road. Just before the deputy’s arrival, the woman gave birth to a baby girl. Both mom and baby were transported by McFarland EMS to a local hospital.
Despite the baby’s early arrival and unusual circumstances, both are reportedly doing well.
