Governor Doyle campaigned at the University of Wisconsin in Madison today with US Senator Russ Feingold.

Doyle criticized Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Green for voting in Congress to cut student aid programs, saying that has made college less affordable for middle class students.

Doyle has doubled financial aid for UW students and expanded the tax deduction for tuition.

But Green's campaign, pointing to a 50% tuition increase at the UW System under Doyle's watch, says the governor has failed students.

Green campaign spokesman Mike Prentiss says no governor has made a UW education more expensive than Doyle.
