From Madison Police:
On Sunday afternoon, at 12:19 p.m., Madison Police responded to a battery and robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot of a Super 8 Motel, 1602 W. Beltline Highway.
A 19-year-old Madison man said he was walking to work (at a nearby restaurant) when two guys rode up behind him on bicycles. He says they first asked for a cigarette.
Next, one put him in a bear hug, and tossed him to the pavement. The victim's head struck the cement, and his recollection of what happened next is foggy.
He remembers the robbers pushing him back down, and his head striking the pavement again.
His cell phone, and iPod were stolen. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was admitted for treatment of a head injury. He was listed in stable condition.
Suspects: The two black male perpetrators had thin builds, and were around 5'10". One was wearing a white tank top.
Both were riding bicycles.

Gutsy little punks. Be careful next time little hoodlums - you ask for a cigarette from the wrong person, and the outcome may not be so profitable or pain free.
