Drivers/Boaters Busted for Drunk Driving
Eleven people busted for drunk driving over the Holiday weekend in Dane County.

Madison, WI. July 6, 2009 – Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies made eleven arrests over the holiday weekend for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). From Friday evening through Sunday night, eight drivers and three boat operators were cited.
On both Friday and Saturday night, additional deputies were patrolling Dane County, part of a specialized OWI enforcement grant from the Department of Transportation. One arrest on Saturday night was Jamie L. Schultz, age 30 of Madison, a three-time offender, also cited for Operating After Revocation – 6th Offense, Suspended Registration, and Open Intoxicants.
Shortly after 2:00 am today (July 6th), a deputy working in eastern Dane County arrested Derric L. Green, age 34 of Sun Prairie for OWI- 2nd Offense. He was also cited for OAR – 9th Offense. Green was booked in to the Dane County Jail on a Probation Hold.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office will continue to have additional patrols on the road throughout the summer. Alcohol, speed, and a lack of seatbelt use, are the three primary factors people are killed and injured in motor vehicle crashes. Thus far in 2009, eighteen people have died on Dane County highways, and eight of those crashes were alcohol related.
