Daylight gives homeowners and investigators a clear view of the remnants of a train derailment near Edgerton.
The train, operated by Wisconsin and Southern Railroad, jumped the tracks south of the city just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.
The derailment involves 13 cars. Five were carrying coal, five lumber, and three were refrigerated cars hauling butter.
Some diesel fuel did leak out, but DNR officials say it does not pose a hazard.
The train's engineer says two diesel locomotives separated from the train, and as the trailing line of cars came to a stop, the 13 cars derailed.
Wisconsin and Southern Railroad continues to investigate.
