Rueben Harris Givens, 37 years of age, from Mobile, AL has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol DeForest Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.
Mr. Givens was traveling west on I-90/94 in Sauk County when the vehicle he was operating struck the rear of a semi unit. Givens then left the scene of the crash without reporting it to law enforcement. He was stopped a short time later on I-90/94 in Juneau County. After the stop, it was determined that Givens was intoxicated and was arrested for OWI. Givens had at least four prior convictions of OWI in states outside of Wisconsin.
"Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."
