Tuesday, in a heated school board meeting, Beloit residents made final arguments on a proposal to build a new high school in the district.
The new school is expected to cost nearly $28 million dollars to develop. Some board members say, this is the best time to construct it because of low interest rates. However, some residents were upset about the tax dollars needed for the new building.
After two hours of discussion, the board unanimously agreed to move forward with a referendum. It will now go to a vote on April 2, 2013.
