Press Release from the Dane Co. Sheriff's Office:

Madison, WI. January 31, 2013 – At approximately 12:13 pm, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a car vs. semi crash on CTH P near Hidden Valley Road in the town of Cross Plains.

A semi-truck operated by Sean K. O’Neill, age 46 of LaCrosse, was delivering food to the Hilltop Inn and was attempting to back into the parking lot from the southbound lane of CTH P.

A Pontiac Grand Prix operated by Dusty M. Sippola, age 19 of Mazomanie, was traveling south on CTH P, and was going to pass the semi in the north lane of the highway. As Sippola began to pass he saw another vehicle coming from the north and returned to his lane, but was unable to stop before hitting the semi head-on.

O’Neill was not injured, and Sippola sustained only minor injuries. Southbound CTH P was closed for just over an hour following the crash. Citations are pending.
