Posted: Sunday, January 27, 2013 -- 7:01 a.m.

At approximately 11:52 p.m. Saturday night, a Dane County Sheriff’s Office Town of Windsor Contract Deputy attempted to make contact with a driver of a vehicle in the parking lot of a business located on County Highway CV, near State Highway 19, in the Township of Windsor. Prior to any initial contact, the male driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was ultimately located in a nearby business; where he was identified as Jason L. Leatherberry, age 30, of Poynette.

Leatherberry failed Standardized Field Sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 4th Offense. Since Leatherberry’s last OWI offense date occurred within the last five years, this most recent arrest is a felony offense.

Leatherberry was also arrested for Obstructing and is currently incarcerated in the Dane County Jail.

Poor guy. Most folk in Wisco get at least 7 or 8 offenses before we deem them a threat.

His 4th? He should have been in jail after the third offense. It is time to raise the beer take as it hasn't been raised since 1969.
