EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) -- A lawsuit alleges a pediatrician sexually abused a man while he was a patient at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Attorneys for the former Eau Claire man filed the lawsuit Wednesday. It alleges that Dr. David Van de Loo sexually abused the man while he was a patient at the clinic from 2004 to 2011.

The man is now 21 and living in Minnesota. He is identified as John Doe 24 to protect his identity.

Van de Loo was charged in October with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male patient. The clinic terminated Van de Loo on Sept. 12.

Mayo Clinic Health System says it has not had a chance to review the lawsuit.

Van de Loo says he has not heard of the lawsuit and had no comment.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) -- An Eau Claire pediatrician is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male patient.

Prosecutors have charged Dr. David Van de Loo with second-degree sexual assault and exposing himself. Authorities began an investigation Aug. 31 after the boy's parents told police their son was sexually assaulted during a medical exam at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. The health care provider says Van de Loo was terminated Sept. 12.

The Leader-Telegram (http://bit.ly/UNRDYx ) reports Van de Loo was released on a $10,000 signature bond Thursday. As a condition of bond, the 60-year-old cannot have unsupervised contact with children other than his own.

In court, defense attorney Rich White said Van de Loo may have used poor judgment, but is innocent of sexual assault.

Van de Loo returns to court Oct. 29.
