If you're planning a vacation within the next couple weeks, why not stay right here in Wisconsin and tour some of the state's most vibrant fall foliage?
The Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism even has an easy way to keep track of when each county's leaves are changing. Just head to wisconsintravel.com and click on the "Fall Color Report."
Right now each of the 72 counties are green but as the leaves change, the color of each county will also change to indicate when the colors will peak.
"This should be an outstanding fall for fall colors," said Stephanie Klett, the secretary of the Wis. Dept. of Tourism. "We've had plenty of rain, and a good summer. Temperatures not too hot, minus a few days. So we're really looking forward to a great fall. And we heard already from one of our fall color reporters up north, that they're expecting the change to begin in full force about the third week in Sept."
