Victim Named In Deadly Mauston House Fire

Juneau County Sheriff's officials say 80-year-old Carl J. Stromley died from smoke inhalation in a house fire Tuesday morning in Mauston. Mauston firefighters found Stromley's body in the house while fighting the fire.

The fire is currently under investigation.

On 12/11/12 at 10:29 am, Mauston Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire on Dlask Rd in Lindina Township. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the garage area of the residence. New Lisbon and Elroy Fire Departments were requested to assist.

Mauston Fire personnel located a body inside the residence.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Juneau County Sheriff's Office, Juneau County coroner's Office, Wisconsin State Fire Marshall's Office, and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
