MILWAUKEE (AP) -- U.S. Senate candidate Tommy Thompson will make an appearance today at the Milwaukee Press Club to be interviewed by a panel of journalists. The former Republican governor and Democrat Tammy Baldwin are vying for the seat that was once held by retiring Senator Herb Kohl.

OAK CREEK, Wis. (AP) -- India's minister of external affairs told Wisconsin Sikhs yesterday that his country feels their pain after this summer's mass shooting at a suburban Milwaukee temple. Three Indian officials went to Oak Creek yesterday to speak with about 150 Sikhs at the temple's hall.

NEKOOSA, Wis. (AP) -- Executives at Nekoosa Coated Products are partnering with a Texas company to buy the specialty papermaker. Nekoosa's CEO and other executives will invest their own money along with Wingate Partners to buy the plant in central Wisconsin.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin wildlife officials say duck hunters should make sure they don't kill trumpeter swans and whooping cranes. Federal law protects both birds.
