Governor Walker Touts Deposit Into State's Rainy Day Fund

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker is touting the deposit of nearly $109 million into the state's rainy day fund, money that can be tapped in an emergency.

The deposit announced Monday comes after the state ended the last fiscal year in June with a surplus of about $342 million. Even though it is less than 1 percent of what is spent out of the state's main account every year, it is the largest deposit ever into the rainy day fund. It marks the second year in a row that a deposit has been made.

Walker says "we remain committed to making the tough decisions necessary to avoid tax increases while maintaining services."

He says his proprieties for the next two-year budget include creating jobs, developing the workforce, reforming government and transforming education.

This is great news. Cash is king and one can never go wrong with cash in the bank. This is the result of OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP! People such as Randall, who feel that a politician "cannot make tough decisions when [they] are too busy begging for campaign money for nearly 2 yrs" should keep that feeling in mind when choosing between Obama and Romney. Obama has done NOTHING but saddled our country with debt while focusing on fundraising events? Even with the death of 4 Americans, this didn't stop Obama from attending TV shows so that ignorant Americans could see him on TV.

What good is a rainy day fund if there are still no jobs 1 3/4 years in to his term? WI has been far behind other midwest states for job creation ever since Walker took office. You cannot make tough decisions when you are too busy begging for campaign money for nearly 2 years.
