MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The city is once again shutting down an Occupy Madison encampment blocks from the state Capitol.

Police say the campers have until Sunday afternoon to vacate the site. About a dozen homeless men and women set up tents at the site in October, the same spot where they spent last winter before they were told to leave in May.

Homeless advocate Brenda Konkel says the campers feel safer in a group, rather than scattering out into the city's woods.

The State Journal (http://tinyurl.com/alt6cbk ) reports Mayor Paul Soglin says the tents violate city and state regulations. He says the camp became a public nuisance last year and a center for crime.

The mayor says there are shelter options available to the homeless campers.
