Wanted for drug charges, theft and battery, Rock County's most wanted criminals' mug shots are all over town.

"I have a list that I can run, generate every single day if I want that has all the active warrants that are in our drawer. And I literally look through the ones that have the most dangerous offenses in the past," said officer Chad Sullivan with Janesville Police.

Sullivan has implemented a number of successful ways to spread the word about fugitives, missing people and unsolved crimes. He's found the public submits tips within a matter of minutes after a post goes up on facebook or an ad starts running on a billboard. Now he's turning to folks at the courthouse for help.

"I''m our court officer, so I see a lot of the people that are there regularly. I see how many people congregate around a certain courtroom when they have to come to court. So we came up with an idea to put a TV outside of that courtroom," he said.

On that TV is Information about Janesville PD, Beloit PD and Rock County's sheriff's most wanted criminals. It's been up for about a year and plays 24 hours a day.

"In the past, we would have never been able to go after a lot of people on our wanted list because we don't have the resources, we don't have a warrant officer at our police department. So with the use of social media and other technologies we have at the police department, we can go after everybody and it's not a lot of man power hours," Sullivan said.

For example, when law enforcement was searching for a man wanted for sexual assault and stalking charges, Sullivan says he put his photo on Nixel and TV right away. "And we were able to capture him a few days later. He couldn't run from us because the information was out there."

Sullivan warns, let that be a lesson for any others who think they're above the criminal justice system: "Don't break the law. If you do, and we want you, we have a lot more eyes and ears out there than just a couple years ago."
