A lightning strike caused $10,000 in damage to a Madison construction site Friday morning.
Workers at the Brownloft Apartment construction site at 1815 University Avenue say lightning struck the 4th floor shortly after 8:00 a.m.
Prior to firefighters arriving, workers put out small fires with extinguishers. Fire crews sprayed water on parts of the building where lightning burned part of the roof and the 4th floor.
No one was injured. Workers were able to return to work.
